ALL ABOUT JOYCE

I set up this Blog to share the experience of designing a tree for Festival of Trees and also to have the family be a part of the tree by helping donate. Any little bit helps. All donations will go straight to decorating the tree, any left over will be donated to Primary Children's Hospital. The main Donor to our tree will be listed as "The Dibble Family" along with "Friends of Festival". I have helped set up and design two previous trees for the Festival of Trees in past years. We are thrilled to do it again, especially knowing that the tree will be dedicated to our sweet JOYCE. The group I am designing with includes my best friend Mandi Arrington, her sister and also my friend Jenilyn Drummond and Jody Nice who is Mandi's sister inlaw. This will be their fourth year. I am thrilled to be a part.

Or tree is done!!!!

Please go see Joyce's tree. This week! At the South Town Expo located at 9400 South and State. Saturday the 4th is the last day. Tickets are pretty cheap and of coarse all proceeds and I mean ALL the money for this event goes to Primary Children's Hospital.

The tree is on row "M" of the large trees we are "M-21"

It came so fast! Today was decorating day. In the last few weeks we all went shopping together to collect the final touches. We had a girls night to brainstorm and come up with more ideas.

It was interesting to hear the process of how the bidding works, one of these times I would like to attend the bidding night. I hope people are fighting over our tree :)

Thanks to everyone who donated and helped with our tree. It was amazing to be a part of all of this. I will definitely do this again next year! We got so many compliments as we decorated by on lookers. It turned out better than I ever thought it would.

Everything was so crazy when we got there. Tons of people all trying to set up their trees. The snow didn't help. When you first get there you need to sign in and buy the tree stand. As you set up the tree there are things that are required and that have to be checked in order for our tree to pass the "Inspection" everything fell right into place. We worked hard and finished within 4 hours.

Our actual tree was found at Michael's for $100 7 1/2 foot very simple tree with a natural look.
Mandi and Jodi and I were all there to decorate and we had a lot of fun while we were there. Maybe even too much fun.

To incorporate the "Paper" theme we wrapped ribbon around reams of paper and laid them in front of the tree.

We got a lot of compliments on these. I had three very large vases, we used them on the side of the tree to also add the "paper" theme and lots of color! I also like the presents in the background.
The pictures of Joyce were hard to choose from. But to celebrate her life I chose the four beautiful photos from her childhood along with two small, yet significant picture at the bottom of the frame. The one on the left is of Grandma and Grandpa holding Joyce as a baby, and the one on the right is probably forty years later of the three of them.

A few close-ups of the ornaments. I just loved how all of the colors came together. Unlike any tree there.

We were surprised how much the tree turned out like our inspiration picture.

Mandi's mom Claudia made the stool cushion to go with the table runner. And I made the table centerpiece.
Until next year! Thanks to everyone who pitched in!
